Fellow MM Journey-Persons and Spring

Wisteria a lovely Spring flower but unfortunately not in this cold climate, this is my friends garden in CA. Does not like our colder climate.
Another week flown by and only one more radiation treatment on Monday, the evil Multiple Myeloma has been sent back to jail and I hope it stays behind lock and key. This radiation has not been too bad and I did not have to take the steroids. A slight radiation burn but Young Living Lavender has taken care of that. I apply it daily after treatment. The doctor told me that if something is added before treatment the radiation is more intense.
I still have my fractured radius but the pain is waaaay less. I have been reading my fellow Multiple Myeloma suffers blogs. Not everyone is having as easy as me. This disease is so insidious and so little is known about it.
Don't forget to visit my WEBSITE www.healingcancernaturally.net
Now this week Geraldine Ferraro passed on due to this disease, in many papers they said a "blood Cancer". Why because very few people know what this disease is all about. She fought it for 13 years which is pretty good. The life expectancy of MM patients used to be 3 years, with better diagnosis and some updated treatments, this life span has been greatly extended.

In my opinion, the hardest part of Multiple Myeloma, is getting a correct diagnosis. Often the doctors tell you that you are imagining this horrendous pain, or that it is a back problem, go take some advil. In many case, like mine, there are no or hardly any blood markers that show the disease is in you, thus you have to be nearly dead before they discover what is wrong with you.
I am what they call a non-secretor, which means that nothing shows up, till too late in the blood. Bone marrow tests are the only way, and in many cases they need to have one to show the disease really is present.
Many doctors have never been exposed to this disease and thus they just have an "off hand" manner is treating the ill. As the awareness increases, of this disease, the medical profession is waking up to the fact that for some reason this disease is spreading to a new group of subjects, namely young people.
This used to be a disease of 60 and over males and mostly of African American descent, not so anymore, young, old, women men are now showing up with this dreaded disease.
There is so much one can do to help oneself, this disease will return, so you have to start a daily regime of healthy living and strong supplements, to keep it away. Stem cell transplants, when they work, seem to give the younger patients, a much needed boost. The drugs help but are not the answer, so until they come up with a better plan it is best to be diligent in your own health and welfare.
Spring has finally arrived today, but tomorrow rain and cold, phew at least we had a couple of sunny days. My garden is calling, but need help to get it fixed, this one hand world is not working. WEll my friends I hope you see some lovely weather this weekend and be thankful for what you have.

Other Worldy Experiences and Putting things into Perspective.

Here is the most amazing picture taken by Oleg Bartunov of Russia. He was visiting near Mt Everest and could not believe his eyes. Ice Crystals in the clouds with the sun at the right angle. He described it as an amazing outer worldy experience and let himself be engulfed with its beauty. It is a very rare occurrence and very few people have seen such a magnificent sight. Of course you are in the sacred mountains of Tibet!
This is what We need on a daily basis, to keep us grounded and focusing on how we can help ourselves and others. Seeing a natural wonder like this must have been amazing. The photographer was overcome with emotion and feelings of well being, along with a group of tourist at the same location.
As I go through my weekly radiation again, this is something I can meditate on and imagine the beauty of, and put these colors into my body to help with healing.
I am going through 3weeks of radiation on my arm and expect it to be healed in the next couple of months.
One interesting fact that care from my doctors visit yesterday, was the fact the radiation dept is now using Holistic ointments to lessen the effect of radiation burns and sooth the skin during treatment. Now that is progress, small as it is, it is still progress. The name of the lotion is Calendula Gel from the flower and made by Boiron. I also use essential oils, Frankincense, Lavender, Orange, Clove, Abundance. These you put on post daily treatment and on non treatment days, when you arise.
Life in these troubling times needs all the help we can give our bodies. We feel the sadness from the Japan Tsunami and Earthquake, and see those poor souls suffering, a daily prayer for them will help us as well as them.
May you have a good week and remember to be kind to yourselves.

The Ebb and Flow of Life - Reality Check- The Gift

Spring is coming! The bulbs are peeking through the earth waiting to show their finery. I love Spring. The flowers do it for me. Have lots of bulbs so hope they all bloom.
One never knows what is around the corner. Daffodils are a symbol of healing for me as when I first discovered I had Multiple Myeloma, I told the doctors that when the daffodils bloomed I would be better. That is the way it happened.
I had another relapse in May of 2009 and by August was again cancer free.
We just went on a wonderful road trip and the whole time I complained of a sore forearm. I suspected that little evil creature - MM - had returned but was not quite sure. I finally had to go and have an x-ray and yes my radius fractured. This came about before I left and I ran into a door but thought no more of it. That nasty little MM had activated and that is where the break occurred. I call the break a gift from God. I do not have symptoms of MM until too late, and I am nearly dead. It is called Non secretory MM and only about 5% of the 1 % mm patients have this it is rare.
Sooo if I did not fracture my arm it probably would have been too late to get treatment. As I have never had Chemotherapy, I have to decide what is best for me. Short compact radiation to the zone, and it should again be gone. As MM never really goes away just goes dormant, we have to be extra careful on how we live, eat and breathe.
I thought I was doing all the things I mention on my website and blog but when I recall the last 5 months I was very careless over taking my supplements on a daily basis. So hopefully lesson learned. I was skating along and now I have been reminded if I wish to stay healthy and alive, I must practice all that I preach, and be especially careful of guarding my body against further insults from the Myeloma.
The doctors are optimistic and also agree my supplements are one of the main reasons I keep my MM from getting away from me.
I have seen a big difference just in the last week, once I saturated my body with the natural supplements. Radiation was slow in getting started due to technical problems at the hospital.
For me the clues of the MM being active are unusual weight gain (I do not overeat and have been eating salads, vegies etc, very little sugar or sweet.) Little nodules that look like baby warts appearing on my arms, legs and body. Last out break the dermatologist told me these were a sign of cancer starting in the body. So you see I had warning and chose to ignore it for a while. No one likes bad news but ignoring it is worse. So will keep you posted on my progress. I am confident in 3 months I will again be MM free or at least tame the beast back into its box. So what I have been expounding is especially true.
Take care all and be well.

Be Thankful Each Day.Family & Pets need our help!

It is a cold wintry day but the orchid says spring is almost here. Soon robins will be flocking about and little birds diveboming us when we go out the front door. I can't wait.
I am seeing my daffodils and tulips pop their heads out of the ground, what a wonderful time Spring is.
Each day I am reminded how fleeting and fast life on this planet is. I want us to be thankful for what we have. We can always find someone who is in a worse position. Lately a lot of sickness and death among humans and animals.
Healthwise, we all struggle but it is our attitude that counts. If we believe we can overcome, then we can. Meditation and prayer should be our daily watch Words.
I was out and about and several people wanted to know why I smelled so good. I had applied essential oils (these are made from plants, trees and shrubs) and do not like the chemical perfumes. Not only does one smell wonderful it gives your body a lift. People notice and they smile when they ask you what you are wearing. Something as simple as that can affect those near you.
The chemicals in our shampoo, toothpaste, perfume, deodorant are killing us. I use natural Lavender Shampoo, I use peppermint deodorant, cornstarch for body powder, and avoid toxic substances as much as possible.
I clean the house with baking soda for scrubbing, add Lemon Oil to my floor washing water, make a mixture of vinegar, ammonia, and soap to clean the windows and blinds. Staying healthy takes work.
I love the essential oils. Lavender on your pillow to sleep, peppermint for an upset stomach, and Lavender and peppermint help reduce pain.
These things I am thankful for.
What did we use before all the modern things were invented.
We are told only give your dog "dog food" What do you think dogs ate before dog food was invented. Raw meat, grains and bones. Human table food has become very contaminated so unless you have natural or organic food it may be wise to make your own dog food. So be thankful for you family, friends and Pets, they all bring us Joy and love. Yes we all have that one or two in our lives who make it harder but that is what thankfulness is all about. A chance to overlook the negative and concentrate on the positive.

Sunny Days can turn into Restful Nights

Sunny, warmer day, Finally! Certainly lifts the spirits. Can't you just see yourself in the hammock, relaxing and listening to the wave. Here is a great way to meditate. See yourself swinging in the calm warm breezes in paradise. See all your illness and cancer gone. Do this daily it will help.
Staying upbeat in the world of turmoil is not easy. There is so much coming at us each day. I love pictures and serenity so I use them as much as possible. Young Living Lavender oil placed on your pillow at night, enhances the sleep and relaxes you. It is also wonderful for minor burns, insect bites and much more. Calms you when you have a headache. We could all sleep in the hammock and have a great night.
I hardly read the paper or watch the news as I read or see enough, just to know what is going on, and cannot dwell on the negative.
There is always someone worse off than yourself. So if you have lost your job or cannot work due to illness, find what is positive about your situation. Meditation and soothing essential oils are wonderful.
Today a well respected doctor, who has his own line of natural skin care products etc, told how he went to a major conference and the big companies are now turning to natural products to help replace all their chemicals. They looked up his patents and copied what they could without infringing. So the positive news is there is a shift and all of us who meditate and pray, are having an effect by removing some of the negative things that big chemical and drug companies are doing.
So sleep well in your paradise this week and soak up some sun.

Reality, Cold Weather and Healing Rocks

Hello my friends, hope you have been doing well these last 3 weeks. I have been jaunting around to get some sunshine, and it worked very well.
I am now back in the cold, with a slight snowfall overnight. Even 60 deg is warm compared to the 30's here in Idaho. However it is nice to be back into a calm serene place. The big cities are so hectic. I have not been to Sedona since the mid 80's and hardly recognized the place.
The great feeling is still there when you get away from the crowd. We were fortunate to get into a canyon where few people are allowed, sit and take in the sunshine, the healing red rocks, and imagine the original inhabitants that once lived there. It is so serene and one gets out of it what one desires. Lots of other tourists scurrying around buying things and shopping but to go out a bit a see the beauty is wonderful. We went to the town of Jerome, an old mining town and old native Indian habitat.
These troubling times have people on edge but if we take the time to meditate, and see a positive out come, forgiving those that oppress the masses and manipulate them, then we become one mind that can have a calming effect on the world. This is not easy but takes practice with meditation and reflection.
I am trying to practice what I preach and one feels decidedly better for it.
I am praying for my friend Feresaknit who has a blog and not doing so well, maybe you could join me in praying for her recovery. She, Like me, suffers from Multiple Myeloma, and while I am blessed to be in remission she is going through a dark period. She lives in the UK.
I have some new things to put out to you later next week and hopefully they can help those who are struggling with faith, disease, pain and loss of someone they love.
At this time a lot of people are passing on, and it seems the dogs are too, I think it comes in cycles.
So have a blessed weekend and be safe.

Low Dose Chemo Combined with Natural. Ducks again!

My goal is to teach the natural healing ways to those who have cancer or other severe illnesses. However, there is a place for chemotherapy and radiation. I have been doing some reading on this subject, and not everyone responds to all natural healing, no matter how hard they try.
There have been several studies Showing that a low dose chemo, along with supplements can greatly improve your chances. There is a form of therapy called IPT where they give insulin before the low dose chemotherapy, this allow the cell to let the chemo inside. Cancer cells have a hard coating around them. Cancer cells suck up huge amounts of insulin, so giving extra insulin, this will convert glucose into energy, thus making the cell more permeable, allowing the chemotherapy to enter the cell more easily, thus killing it. I will expound on this later on but this is just a hint of how we can educate our doctors to a new view of how best to treat us, instead of killing of all the healthy cells, in an effort to kill the cancer.
Nutritional supplements and anticancer supplements, are vital to the building up of the immune system, which is a large portion of healing, but often more is needed.
I have recently posted here and on my website www.healingcancernaturally.net , about the importance of keeping the pH in a alkaline state. I have already heard from one of my followers, that she is much improved after taking 3 days of Alkaline salts, and boosting her pH to almost normal.
There are so many simple things we can do to help ourselves, it is amazing how simple things can improve our health.
DUCKS: Here is "Daffy & Ducky" before the snow and ice, hoofing it across the lawn, our third duck, who looks like a turkey and has some people thinking it is, is also around. They are trying to get back with the geese, a couple of hundred geese flew in and spent the night and the ducks were in the middle, it was kind of weird, then "Daffy" took off with them for the day but did return, much to our relief. We have this beautiful white goose, with a black neck I am hoping to get a picture but it is not easy. "Daffy" has taken to flying around the neighborhood. For some reason I do not think "Ducky" can fly and big fat turkey duck may but fortunately does not seem to want to.
It is very healing to look and interact with nature as it calms the soul. Have a good week, will not be able to post for a while but will catch up when I return.
