Happy Summer Days and Recovery

Here is my Clematis taking on its summer dress. Nothing like your garden and flowers blooming prolifically to help you heal. I am almost back on track after several months of minor setbacks.
First the lesion on my left ulna allowed it to break when I hit the doorway, not MM, but slow healing. I found out a little more about radiation. I am allowed to have the hyperbaric for healing. However, not for 6 months. The docs tell us that the radiation is out of our system in 2-3 weeks...Hmmm. I cannot have the hyperbaric as the radiation interferes with the oxygen healing till 6 months have passed. I find this interesting as if the Radiation is dissipated then I should be able to have the hyperbaric.
I take Ioderal after each segment of radiation to remove the excess radiation so hopefully it does take it out.
I am excited about having the hyperbaric and hope the "powers that be " do not change their minds.
Thanks to Doug I pushed for a way to get tested every 6 months, that allows me to get a handle on my MM popping up. I had a complete body scan with xray's and that is how they found the plasmacytoma in my R humerus. It had eaten a hole thru the bone so the best cure was a steel rod then 3 weeks of site specific radiation. I started the radiation yesterday. Then I am thru with this. Pray for a non recurrence of a any of these lesions.
I find out more and more each day about cancer and also my MM. I have many lesions left on my spine, Femur's head/brain area but they are dormant at this time. Sooo I need to take my own advice and adhere strictly to my regime.
I actually feel relieved as I never really knew my status but obviously the polymva and the added supplements have been keeping these nasty things in check.
I am looking into some additional supplements to help boost my immune system and will chat about those next time.
After 2 weeks, am back on my feet after rod surgery - yes it was painful - but so is active Multiple Myeloma when it eats your bones away. Had to go to a different hospital but they did very well in taking care of me.
I am thankful for all the reprieves I am getting and now will blog more about helping those out there who need it.
I have added a couple of new funny video's to my website so enjoy. We will chat later, and yes Paula am happy to be back and will read your blog updates over the weekend.

  1. That hyperbaric stuff sounds intriguing. Overhere it's approved for treatment of a bone infection in a particular disease but I think only privately. (I just looked it up.)

As a little aside I had one dose of radiation treatment to my lower back for pain management and I don't sweat there any more! I keep forgetting to look that up and it's not like it's something you can mention to every one.

Glad your on the mend. :D xx
